Patch or fix?

These principles can be likened to health and how we feel.  Many people have had a one off crisis with their health; let’s take back pain as an example.  The first crisis would normally have us reaching for the painkillers or in more severe cases a stronger remedy from our medical doctor.  But what if that crisis returns a little worse and for a little longer? Say every six months to a year.  The presence of a repeated crisis, just as with the worn tire or crack in the wall, may lead us to think there is an underlying cause.  Often the underlying cause can be a misalignment in our spines.  So, what warning signs could indicate this?  These are common symptoms such as low back pain, sciatica, hip pain, tight muscles, neck pain, headaches or dizziness.  Each of these could be dealt with individually, or we could look at detecting the cause of the problem.  By fixing the cause we set ourselves up for a more long-term solution. Chiropractic Care does not treat the symptoms... it corrects the causes.

In many aspects of life we are faced with decisions whether to may a quick fix/patch work or to take the time and effort to make a more permanent correction.

If we noticed that one of the tires on our car was worn, the first reaction would be to replace the tire for e new one.  But what if six months later that same tire was worn out again, whilst the other remained preserved?  Would we continually replace the same tire or would we start to think that there may be a misalignment in the cars’ axis?  By aligning the axis and then replacing the tire we are setting ourselves up for a more long-term solution.  The same could be said of a persistent crack in the wall of a house.  Would you address the crack every six months, with a paint job, or would you rather look to address the foundations of the house? If the second option, then the crack will stay fixed for good.
